Green Tomorrow Organization (GTO) is a registered nonprofit organization with the Ministry of Economy of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan under registration number (945). Our leadership team includes experienced professionals in education, healthcare, agriculture, and social work. We employ over 17 core staff members and partner with local organizations and communities to ensure sustainable impact.

Green Tomorrow Organization (GTO) was founded in 2007 in Kabul, Afghanistan. The organization was founded by young Afghan professionals with the goal of improving the lives of children, girls, and women living in underserved areas including orphanages through various programs and initiatives.

Over the years, GTO has grown and expanded its reach, becoming a leading organization in the field of delivering emergency response to vulnerable communities, with a focus on education, health, agriculture, food security, and food/cash assistance to support poor families. GTO’s mission is to create a sustainable world for tomorrow’s generations, and the organization is committed to achieving this mission through innovative, evidence-based, and community-driven programs and initiatives.

GTO has worked extensively in Kabul, Parwan, Panjsher, Kapisa, and Logar provinces of Afghanistan, partnering with local communities, government agencies, and other stakeholders to implement programs and initiatives that address the most pressing needs of the community. Through the years, the organization has received recognition and support from a range of national and international organizations.

Today, GTO continues to work tirelessly to improve the lives of people in Panjsher and Kapisa through a range of small innovative, and impactful programs and initiatives. The organization remains committed to its mission of creating a sustainable world for tomorrow’s generations, and is dedicated to working with partners and stakeholders to achieve this vision.

Our Impact and Reach

Green Tomorrow Organization (GTO) is a nonprofit organization that operates in the provinces of Kabul, Parwan, Kapisa, and Panjsher in Afghanistan. These provinces are located in the central and northeastern parts of the country, and are home to a diverse population of people from different ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds.

In Parwan province, GTO has worked to improve access to education and health care, with a focus on supporting girls’ education, providing vocational training for women, and improving access to clean water and sanitation facilities.

In Kapisa province, GTO has implemented programs and initiatives that focus on improving agriculture and food security, supporting small-scale farmers, and providing vocational training for youth.

In Panjsher province, GTO has focused on improving access to education and health care, supporting small-scale farmers, and providing vocational training for youth and women.

Through its work in these provinces, GTO is making a significant impact on the lives of people in some of the most vulnerable communities in Afghanistan. The organization remains committed to its mission of creating a sustainable world for tomorrow’s generations, and is dedicated to working with partners and stakeholders to achieve this vision in the communities it serves. Since our inception and with the minimum available funding resources:

  • We have provided specialized training to over 200 teachers, providing education to over 5,000 children and girls.
  • We have trained 48 females in vocational training, supporting over 250 members of their families.
  • We have trained 72 female healthcare workers, providing healthcare services to over 20,000 people.
  • We have trained 500 farmers in sustainable farming practices, increasing crop yields and improving food security for their families.
  • We have provided food assistance to over 5,000 vulnerable families, helping them to meet their basic needs during times of crisis.
  • We have provided shelter, healthcare, and education support to over 1,000 vulnerable families affected by conflict and displacement.

A nonprofit organization, Green Tomorrow Organization (GTO) relies on the dedication and hard work of a team of staff and volunteers to carry out its programs and initiatives.

Key Positions

  1. Executive Director: The Executive Director oversees the overall management and direction of GTO. This includes developing and implementing strategic plans, managing staff and volunteers, and building relationships with key partners and stakeholders.
  2. Program Manager: GTO has program directors who oversee the organization’s programs and initiatives in different areas, such as education, health, agriculture, food security, and supporting vulnerable families. They are responsible for program design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.
  3. Finance Manager: The Finance Manager oversees GTO’s financial management, including budgeting, financial reporting, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  4. Administration Manager: The Administration Manager is responsible for managing GTO’s staffing needs, including recruitment, training, and performance management, as well as the transportation, logistics, procurement, information technology and inventory.

Volunteers

  • Community Mobilizers: Community mobilizers are volunteers who work with GTO to engage with local communities and raise awareness about the organization’s programs and initiatives.
